After the German presidential elections in Germany 2021 improvements for the national immigration law have been set as a goal in the coalition agreement. As a first step, the German government has now finalised a paper for the Federal Cabinet which proposes a new approach for qualified immigration to Germany, drafting a new framework.
The points of this paper will most likely be implemented in a legislative process starting in 2023.
