A new draft law concerns the introduction of a points system to allow skilled workers to stay in Germany for up to one year to look for a job.
Furthermore, it is planned to waive the requirement for a connection between training and the job as a prerequisite for the issuance of an EU Blue Card. A reduction of certain salary thresholds is implemented in the draft as well.
The quota for the so-called Western Balkans regulation will increase 100% and the expiration date of the regulation is cancelled.
The draft is expected to be implemented before the end of the first half of 2023.
