What will you learn on the day?
Global mobility policy design and segmentation – a review of the typical drivers for international assignments, how these impact Global Mobility policy design and strategy and why it is important to have a formal assignment sign off process.
Relocation policy – an introduction to the “typical” components of a relocation policy for globally mobile employees and considerations to help keep the policy fit for purpose and without unnecessary cost.
The home based approach – a re-cap on the traditional expatriate “balance sheet”, how this has evolved and how to adapt this for your more junior “rising stars” as well as your VIPs.
Host packages – when to consider the Host approach and understanding the impact this package could have on the employee and the organisation.
Local plus – a review of the typical additional benefits organisations use to supplement Host packages in some locations and the pros and cons versus a home-based approach.
STA and Commuter policies – this session looks at common practice for those moving on a short-term basis or requesting to commute between home and host locations.
Alternative policies – an opportunity to discuss emerging Global Mobility policies such as regional, self-initiated, localisation policies, split family, pioneer, STBV frameworks and more fluid policy models.
Case studies – four case studies are discussed in groups with other course members to put all that has been learned into practice.
