Getting Ahead in Global Mobility

Exclusive Event - Request to Book

People come into Global Mobility through all sorts of routes. For many of us GM wasn’t the intended destination but once we arrived, we loved it and never left. As your career develops, however, doing your job well is only part of the journey. How do you take the next step, make a meaningful impact and achieve your career goals? Getting Ahead in Mobility gives you the space to step away from your desk for a couple of hours, reflect on your ambitions and explore how to think strategically about your GM career so you can realise your potential.

This is an exclusive, small-group event designed for Global Mobility professionals with some experience behind them who are ready for their next step. Places are limited, so booking is by request and we'll be in touch to confirm.

Funding your Leadership & Skills Development

Funding your Leadership & Skills Development
09:30 - 10:30

Hear from Grant Thornton as they explore how apprenticeships can support leadership and skills development across your Global Mobility team.

This session will look at apprenticeships as part of a modern employee benefits offering, and how they can help equip people with the skills, confidence and adaptability needed to navigate change. Grant Thornton will also provide updates on apprenticeship funding and the levy, as well as new and emerging areas of focus, funding opportunities and development pathways, including the growing role of AI.

Attendees will come away with a clearer understanding of how apprenticeship funding can be used strategically to invest in people, strengthen capability and support career progression.

The Real Power of Mentoring

The Real Power of Mentoring
10:30 - 11:30

A seminal 2006 Gartner study conducted at Sun Microsystems  demonstrates the career impact of mentoring. People who are mentored are five times more likely to be promoted than those who aren't. People who mentor other people are six times more likely to be promoted.

In this session, we’ll explore how mentoring can support professional growth in Global Mobility, both for mentees and mentors. We’ll look at how to identify the right mentor, build a productive mentoring relationship and make mentoring part of your ongoing career development.

They’ll offer honest insights into what they wish they had known earlier, the advice they would give to their younger selves, and the guidance they believe matters most for anyone looking to get ahead in Global Mobility.

Drawing on decades of collective experience, this session will provide practical, candid and inspiring perspectives on building a successful and sustainable career in GM.
